Engaging programs at the library even better with Friends

Friends of the Library are instrumental in bringing literary and cultural events to our community. They promote literacy, support engaging programs and lifelong learning, and provide for specialized materials for career development and to support local businesses.

The Friends sponsor programs for a variety of interests at our libraries and in the community. All programs are free, and we hope you get a chance to enjoy these experiences and workshops.

Creator in Residence

Delve into creativity and imagination with our Creator in Residence series at The Lab at North Spokane to uncover the creative economy and entrepreneurship found in Spokane County. Five local creators share their work through demonstrations and hands-on classes: graphic artist and publisher Derrick Freeland, artist and bookbinder Timothy Ely, jewelry designer Sondra Barrington, baker and cake decorator Catee Ng, and artist and manuscript illuminator Hannah Charlton. Each creator will be in residence for one month starting with Derrick Freeland in September. Registration is required for many of their classes, and we expect them to fill up fast, so don’t wait to sign up. Find more information in our fall issue of Engage.
