New officers elected at Annual Friends Helping Friends event

Representatives from Friends of the Library from across the District gathered on Saturday, April 29 for the 5th annual Friends Helping Friends event at Spokane Valley Library. The highlight of this year’s meeting was author Stephanie Oakes, who spoke about her love for libraries and the impact that libraries have had on her life. This event is not only where all Friends and volunteers connect, share ideas, and socialize, it’s also the annual business meeting for the organization. New officers for the 2017-2018 year were elected and are as follows:

Daryl Langford – President
Renee Taylor – Vice President
Garrett Gfeller – Treasurer
Ann Apperson – Secretary
